What to expect

Patients should be aware that in MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) there is no radiation exposure.  However, patients with any implanted metal devices or other metal in their body cannot have an MRI scan conducted due to susceptibility to the equipment’s magnetic fields unless the device is specifically deemed MRI compatible.

Pre-appointment tips

Inform your physician if any of the following applies to you:

• Pregnant or may be pregnant
• Have a cardiac pacemaker
• Have any metal implants from surgeries, and/or tattoos and piercings
• Experience claustrophobic symptoms

If an appointment is missed

• Patients may be re-scheduled if appointments are not met. However, keeping an appointment time is highly encouraged for a timely examination as requested by the ordering physician.
